I have a canon xs and the Lens it came with is fine for close ups but it can not take pictures from far away because the Zoom is terrible. I need some suggestions for a lens that is under 900 that can help me.

I just got a nikon D3100 camera and it came with 2 lenses:
18-55mm VR Zoom- NIKKOR
and
55-200 VR Zoom- NIKKOR

whats the difference between them and what instance would i use one and not the other?

I have a Sony NEX-3 and I love it, but every time I take a picture and either zoom in our out, I seem to have to manually change the focus, or else the picture ends up very blurry. It’s ok for landscapes etc, but when capturing scenes with people in, it’s time consuming and irritating to tell people to wait whilst I fiddle around with the camera! Is there no auto-focus option?

I was wondering if Sony were planning on making a 55 – 200mm zoom lens, since I need a longer zoom than on the standard 18 – 55mm and dont fancy shelling out 700 quid for the 18 – 200mm. Also, if so, when will it be released, and around what price point will it be at?

I accidently popped out the zoom lens & Now it doesn’t zoom in or out. I don’t know what it’s suppose to look like & i don’t know how to fix it can anyone help?! I really need the help! The lens basically just dangles & i really need to know how to fix it soon!

When I look at digital cameras online, how do I know if the camera can zoom in while its taking a video?
Is it "Optical Zoom"?
The camera that I have right now can not zoom while I am taking a video, even though it can zoom in on pictures.

Also, none of the cameras I’m looking at seem to have the dimensions or quality of their video. How do I know if the video quality will be good?
