Sorry there’s no way to increase the mega pixels on a camera without having to buy a brand new camera because mega pixels are already preset into the camera
no
A new camera.
No, sorry there is no way to do this. The number of megapixels is tied directly to the sensor of the camera. Trying to change it would be like trying to fit the engine from a formula 1 car into a ford. Once you have changed absolutely everything to make it compatible with the new engine, you may as well have bought a new, faster car.
Try having a look on ebay for 2nd hand cameras. You can pick up a decent one for under £200.
The cost of a new entry level camera body, may cost you less than you can get for a the D1 body.
The D1 has something that no other camera has … A top shutter speed of 1/16,000th of a second and can sync with flash at 1/500th second.
What to do? Find a way to generate some money with the D1. Actually, there is nothing that the new entry level DSLR can do that your D1 cannot … photographically. Sure some will shoot video, but that is not really what shooting with a DSLR is all about.
You should be able to get 11×14 inch prints with no problem using your D1.
What exactly is it you think a newer Body will do? Try looking for a good used D40.
Are you thinking that you will get better pics? You won’t unless the camera has greatly improved optics as well. A 3MP camera will produce the same quality image as a 12 MP camera with the same optics. You will just have a much larger picture at 12MP. A 3MP camera at max settings will give a 2048 x 1536 pic. That’s pretty big. You need bigger? Tell the truth. You just want a new camera, don’t you?
Given that even though it’s "only" 3MP, but it has a much larger sensor than even a 12MP P&S, you’re probably still getting higher quality than people running around with "higher resolution" cameras (so long as they’re not DSLR’s). So, unless you just REALLY want a new camera, or are planning to print some posters…keep the D1. It’s a great camera, and you can likely print good looking prints up to 16×20 with proper editing.
Unfortunately the answer is "No". The only way to increase the megapixels is to buy a new camera.
i try to write the answers your problem in my blog http://www.mystructuredsettlement.co.cc you can see any problem in my blog.
